In audio there is silence and as sound increases we move through stages of emotion including joy, sorrow, elation, and fear heading to the loudest of sound the Threshold of Pain. From this point more volume will only damage and distort, cause us to back away, make us cringe. But right at the Threshold we look and listen with interest and wonder, never knowing when we have to stop listening or look away. Pushing the dynamic range of light and sound is the interest described by my work. In music , photography, design and art thresholds are met and explored. Journey to the Threshold with me.
